BodyGard® 7-in-1 Emergency Tool is the newest product in Swiss+Tech's line of emergency preparedness tools. It has been reported that 600 people die needlessly each year trapped in sinking vehicles. In addition, drivers become trapped within their cars when the windows or door fail to operate due to vehicle damage, fire or submersion. The key to survival in these situations is getting a window open and freeing oneself and others from the seatbelt. Both tasks are made difficult when drivers panic, lack the proper tools or waste valuable seconds searching their vehicle for a tool.
The BodyGard® 7-in-1 Emergency Tool is a key-chain rescue tool that combines an automatic glass breaker, a seat belt cutter, sonic alarm, bright LED flashlight with both a high beam and low beam and an emergency flasher in a device small enough to fit on a key chain or in a pocket.
This emergency lifesaver is small, compact and fits in the palm of your hand measuring only 3” x 1¾” x ¾” and weighing only 1.5 ounces and attaches securely to a key ring, rear view mirror post or sun visor arm. It releases with a quick tug for fast emergency use and glows in the dark to help locate it in low or no light.
The glass breaker is spring-loaded to deploy automatically when pressed firmly against a vehicle's side or rear window. View usage guidelines. The safety-blade seat belt cutter quickly frees both the driver and passengers if their seat belts do not unlatch after an accident. When not in use, the blade is housed securely in the casing to prevent accidental cutting. Both the glass breaker pin and safety blade are made of high-carbon steel for maximum durability.
In addition to vehicle emergencies, The BodyGard® 7-in-1 can be used to signal for help or to ward off attackers when walking, biking and hiking. BodyGard® 7-in-1 is impact-resilient, is chrome plated, with a tough ABS construction and a limited lifetime warranty. It includes a replaceable A23/12V battery and instructions for use and care.
BodyGard® 7-in-1 Platinum Series Emergency Tool has all of the features and benefits of the BodyGard® Original 5-in-1 Emergency Tool plus a digital tire pressure gauge and a thermometer.
It is recommended that at least once a month and before long trips, tire pressure should be checked. Most consumers only check their tire pressure when they realize that their tire is nearly flat, which can negatively affect the ride quality, fuel consumption and car safety.
Under-inflation is the most common cause of tire failures and may result in severe tire cracking, tread separation or "blowout", with unexpected loss of vehicle control and increased risk of injury. Under-inflation increases sidewall flexing and rolling resistance, resulting in heat buildup and internal damage to the tire. It also may result in unnecessary tire stress, irregular wear, loss of vehicle control and accidents. A tire can lose up to half of its air pressure and not appear to be flat!
Consumers are urged to buy a reliable tire pressure gauge, as automatic service station gauges may be inaccurate and hard to find. Use of a digital or dial type tire pressure gauge rather than a stick type tire pressure gauge is recommended.
Vehicle gas mileage can be improved by at least 3.3% by keeping tires inflated to the proper pressure. Under-inflated tires can lower gas mileage of 0.4 percent for every 1 PSI drop in pressure of all four tires.
